São Paulo, Brasil – July 30, 2012 – Telit Wireless Solutions, a leading global provider of high-quality machine-to-machine (M2M) modules and value-added services, today announced that its M2M modules will enable a device from SpinCom to detect if a tracking device is being attacked by a wireless jammer. The Spin_JAMM from SpinCom, a developer of tracking solutions via mobile networks, detects the presence of jammers and emits a visual and sound alarm that alerts drivers and security personnel near the tracking device, giving precious seconds and minutes that can save employees lives (in the event of an impending robbery) and valuable cargo.
"We chose Telit’s GE865 modules because of their strong capabilities in jamming detection for tracking solutions", said Claudio De Gennaro, SpinCom`s Director. "When we were developing the Spin_JAMM, we looked for a module that was reliable and strong. Telit´s GE865 gave us this and more, and offers the highest value of any module on the market today".
The new GE865 product family has the smallest GSM/GPRS Ball-Grid-Array (BGA) modules in the market. The low profile and small size of the unique BGA package for the GE865-QUAD enables the design of extremely compact applications, such as jamming detection devices. Since connectors are eliminated, the solution cost is significantly reduced compared to conventional mounting.
"Telit is the market’s only technology company dedicated solely to M2M. The GE865-QUAD is one of our flagship modules in the cellular portfolio, which is supplemented by our comprehensive lines in Short Range and GPS technology, and by a full complement of value-added services including global cellular connectivity. We are proud that we could meet all the requirements of SpinCom with our modules," says Dominikus Hierl, Chief Marketing Officer Telit Wireless Solutions.
