Masternaut Chooses Telit for GPRS Data Transmission

Paris/Trieste – Telematics specialist, masternaut has selected Telit’s ultra-compact GC quad-band series M2M modules to equip its electronic boxes, MCU2 and the Tribox. Following a programme of competitive analysis and thorough testing undertaken at its Trieste-based laboratories, masternaut chose the solutions offered by Telit Wireless Solutions, an international specialist in M2M communication.

As a first step, Telit’s ultra-compact GC quad-band series M2M modules will be used in the MCU2 (Mobile Collector Unit – the embedded electronic box of masternaut) and the Tribox first generation (an electronic box for tracking and toll services). The next generation of boxes, the MCU3 and Tribox2, to be launched in Spring 2008, will use the GE864 module of Telit. The GE864 is currently the world’s smallest GSM/GPRS quad-band module to incorporate the BGA assembly concept.

In addition, masternaut’s decision in favour of Telit as its technology partner will bring about further synergies for both companies.

"Telit offers us a product of quality, perfectly adapted to our needs and a good reliability with which we have great possibilities of evolution; this is the reason of our choice, which remains important to us," says Pascal Chignon, Director of Research and Development at masternaut.

"Working with the leading telematics specialist masternaut, we can strengthen our position on the European market and stay ahead of our competitors," says Felix Marchal, Vice President Global Sales, Telit Wireless Solutions.
