Dog owners to benefit from Telit Wireless Solutions M2M Technology

Xirgo Technologies, LLC Develops First-of-its-Kind Pet Monitoring and Tracking Device for Positionere

SAN FRANCISCO – October 23, 2007 – Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc., the US-based m2m mobile technology arm of Telit Communications (AIM: TCM), announced today that its GE864-PY module will enable a new cellular communications-based pet tracking system being developed for Positionere. DogTracs is an innovative m2m consumer application that allows users to pinpoint the location of their pets 24-hours a day from anywhere in the world via cell phone or Internet connection. Positionere plans to make DogTracs available to consumers at retail stores in 2008 as well as online atwww.dogtracs.com. Mobile coverage is immediately available over the T-Mobile network through RACO Wireless.

"With DogTracs, Positionere and Xirgo have created a totally unique consumer technology for pet owners reflecting the increasingly pervasive role m2m can play in our daily lives," said Roger Dewey, President & CEO of Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc. "Xirgo is an important partner for Telit and we hope our ongoing collaboration will further advance the state of m2m in this country."

Xirgo developed the DogTracs device to Positionere’s specifications, and selected Telit’s GE864-PY wireless communications module because it’s extremely small, compact and rugged design makes it ideal for use in this type of high-vibration application. Additionally, Pythonä open source scripting language allows the application to run directly on the Telit module. With its dimensions of 30 x 30 x 2.8 mm and a weight of seven grams the GE864-PY is the world’s smallest complete platform for cellular communications with BGA assembly concept.

Essential to ensuring minimum collar size and production costs is the GE864-PY’s ball grid array (BGA) installation concept. Telit’s BGA product design uses tiny solder balls placed on the underside of a module which allow for direct mounting to the application circuit board, without the need for plugs, cables or connectors. Together, the compact shape and easy installation reduce costs and are crucial advantages for use in applications for the consumer market.

"We needed a small, power-efficient and reliable wireless communications module to build a tracking device that doesn’t burden the animal. Telit’s module provided the best functionality, compact design and most extensive reach across multiple cellular networks making it a perfect fit for DogTracs," said Shawn Aleman, Vice President of Business Development of Xirgo. "DogTracs is by far the most technologically advanced and convenient way to find lost pets."

The small device, measuring 2.85 x 1.65 x 0.75 inches and weighing only 2.4 ounces, fits effortlessly on the collar of any pet larger than 12 pounds. DogTracs integrates GPS and cellular antennae, as well as a seven-day rechargeable battery. Upon placing the device on a pet, DogTracs users can set permanent geofence parameters online around a home or pet’s usual location. In addition, DogTracs enables users to push a button on the collar to generate on-demand geofences in unfamiliar settings, like at the park. The geofence mapping application is made possible by Wildcat Systems. When a pet crosses a geofence boundary, the pet owner is notified by email and cell phone text message. The current location of the pet continually updates every two minutes until the pet is found.

"There is no other product on the market that so simply and effortlessly tracks pets and provides such peace of mind to pet owners regardless of where they are throughout the world," said Charles Stewart, President & CEO of Positionere. "When selecting a wireless module, we weighed all our options, and Telit just offered the perfect features and dependability necessary for DogTracs."
