Engineering Services and Expertise

The engineering team at Gruppo FOS offers services for:

  • Intelligent systems
  • Electronic design
  • System engineering
  • Firmware and software development
  • Mechanical design

The team collaborates with companies seeking to create or improve their product or system in their reference markets.

Gruppo FOS focuses on IoT devices used in wireless monitoring for indoor and outdoor applications. The company participates in funded projects to study and implement complex systems, the outputs of which enrich the technology and product solution portfolio.

An example of this process is the smart trap for precision agriculture. It collects and analyzes field images and transmits them via a cellular network to create an early warning system for phytosanitary control.

Gruppo FOS’s mechanical designers prototyped the trap using a 3D-printed model to house the electronics and achieve the best performance. The technology transfer project built the field product that a spin-off company marketed.
