How does Telit Cinterion’s R&D process reduce the risk and cost of IoT product development?

First, we spend real time up front so the first prototype is right. We average under two per project.  

Second, and this is something I think is important, we invest in customized software and embedded algorithms that make development easier for the customer. The goal is to take complexity off your plate so you move from concept to product faster.  

On top of that, we validate and certify in-house, so problems surface in our labs instead of in your field deployment. 

How is this different from using a design house or an ODM? 

A design house delivers a design and then leaves the rest to you. You own production and certification, and you handle field support yourself. An ODM is focused on manufacturing and may skip the detailed RF and field validation a connected product needs.  

We do it all, and we stand behind the product. We act more as a partner than as a vendor.  

Who owns the intellectual property? 

For our own modules, the IP stays with Telit Cinterion. For a custom solution product, it depends on the project.  

Some customers fund the development and keep full IP rights. Others prefer to leave ownership with us. There is no single rule. We work it out per project.
