Telit’s HE910 Series Successfully Concludes Inter-operability Testing with SK Telecom
Seoul, Korea – June 3, 2013 – Telit Wireless Solutions, a leading global provider of high-quality machine-to-machine (M2M) modules, services and solutions, today announced successful conclusion of inter-operability testing (IOT) with SK Telecom Co., Ltd, the country’s leading wireless communications operator, for its HE910 module series. Passing IOT testing denotes a confidence level by the operator that is sufficiently high in the reliability and quality of the modules for activation and use on its mobile networks.
The M2M module IOT program with SK Telecom is the final step required by the operator for modules to be integrated into customer devices on-boarding onto its networks. IOT programs are adopted by most mobile operators to address the increasing complexity of protocols in the interaction between M2M devices and mobile networks; and to ensure module vendors are capable of providing adequate technical support for customer application development based on the tested modules.
SK Telecom’s IOT conclusion for the HE910 series expands the line-up of tested modules which already includes the UC864-K and CC864-K and which is soon to include Telit LTE modules.
The HE910 series is comprised of HSPA+ modules in different frequency band and feature combinations. The series is part of the xE910 form factor family which features a common, uniform 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2mm LGA package. Modules in the series deliver data rates up to 21 Mbps-down in the five-band G, DG, and D variants, 7.2Mbps-down in the dual-band EUD, EUG and EUR variants; all with 5.76 Mbps in uplink, providing high-speed in ultra-low profile for the integrated solution. The HE910-G, DG, and EUG incorporate an integrated high-sensitivity GPS receiver rated at -147 dBm autonomous cold start sensitivity making them ideal for personal navigation and tracking applications. The tested data-only EUD, EUG, D and DG variants are particularly well-suited for mobile connected devices with high throughput requirements such as mobile computing, in-car telematics, PDAs, e-readers, tablet PCs, and consumer electronics in general.
"The combination of Telit’s technical expertise in module integration and its close understanding of the nation’s leading operator requirements translate into real advantages for both SK Telecom and Telit customers," said Derick Tsang, APAC manager of Telit "With this IOT conclusion, I expect to increase our momentum in the growing M2M market including automotive and energy, particularly with manufacturers currently supplying mobile devices to SKT in domestic and global markets."
The xE910 form factor family protects investments by offering complete compatibility among companion products from 2G-GPRS to 4G-LTE and every technology in between. For more information about the HE910 module series and other Telit products, visit www.telit.com.
