KDDI carrier approval expands deployment opportunities for laptop OEMs in the Japanese market

Telit’s LN940 M.2 mobile data card family supports LTE Cat 6, 9 and 11

London, November 30, 2017 – Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that the LN940 mobile data card completed certification at KDDI, a leading Japanese carrier. The M.2 device, part of Telit’s portfolio of LTE mobile broadband solutions, is now available for operation on the carrier’s 4G LTE network.  For more information about the LN940 series of wireless modules visit: https://contact.www.telit.com/ln940-data-card.

The LN940 already equips Japan’s finest laptops and notebooks delivering LTE Category 9 (Cat 9) mobile broadband download speeds of up to 450Mbps.  Starting now, these notebooks and laptops can also be cellular-data provisioned under top-tier mobile network operator KDDI. Global deployment and other certifications are ongoing.

Ideal for mobile computing, networking and industrial IoT platforms that command an ultra-thin footprint with low-power consumption for extended battery use, the LN940 is a 42mm M.2 form factor with integrated satellite positioning functionality supporting GPS, GLONASS and Beidou. The LN940 data card series currently includes variants delivering LTE-Advanced high-speed data in Categories 6, 9 and 11 supporting up to 64 3 Carrier Aggregation Downlink configurations and up to 256 QAM modulation for the fastest mobile data performance possible. The single-SKU LN940 supporting 24 LTE bands and 3G fallback, is an effective solution for international business travel across geographies and simplifies logistics, manufacturing and inventory management for OEMs.

“Being approved for deployment under the KDDI LTE network adds significant flexibility so that our OEM customers can achieve their targets of high-quality and reliable mobile broadband solutions in the Japanese market,” said Derick Tsang, President Telit APAC. “We are committed to providing unmatched quality in modules and data cards for mobile computing and all application areas of the IoT with our robust portfolio that customers can take advantage of today and easily upgrade with future rollouts of higher LTE categories, including 5G.”
