M2M specialist presents extremely powerful and cost-effective GPS module SE867-AGPS: Telit launches its first standalone GPS module

The new GPS module ideally complements the existing module portfolio of Telit. Herewith the company is expanding its expertise on the GPS market and is offering its customers all the options for choosing a suitable GPS solution. The stand alone GPS module SE867-AGPS is an extremely cost-effective solution for active antennas and offers maximum flexibility for GPS applications with minimal integration costs. This is ensured in particular by an ultra-compact form factor of just 18 x 18 x 3.5 mm and the two layer host PCB design. The BGA module operates in a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C and is equipped with a powerful yet energy-saving baseband processor. This makes it ideal for integration in high-volume GPS applications and mobile data devices where module size and low power consumption are the critical factors. The module features state-of-the-art GPS characteristics. As with all modules in the Telit portfolio, the SE867-AGPS is also equipped with extended hardware warranty.

The new module is AGPS (Assisted GPS)-compatible and offers highest sensitivity among all existing GPS modules on the market. Applications requiring an extremely quick GPS-FIX can call up the correct position within two seconds with the SE867-AGPS.

"The GPS market is a commoditised market on which price is the most differentiating factor among the competitors. Therefore we decided to expand our product portfolio with a particularly cost-effective module", says Oozi Cats, CEO of Telit Communications PLC. "The SE867-AGPS offers cutting-edge GPS technology at a highly competitive price. With this innovative module and the most comprehensive distribution channel in the M2M market, I am convinced that we will be able to strengthen our position on the GPS market."
