Coyote System expands its use of the world’s smallest GSM/GPRS module

Telit and Coyote extend their strategic partnership

Rome, 18 October 2010 – Telit Wireless Solutions, a global leading specialist in wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) technology, and Coyote System, the European leader in GPS radar warning systems, have concluded a framework agreement for the sale of the world’s smallest GSM/GPRS module. This move represents a further extension of the companies’ existing collaboration. According to the agreement, Telit will supply Coyote System over the next two years with GE865-QUAD modules.

Coyote System has been using the world’s smallest GSM/GPRS module in its equipment since 2009. The Radar warning systems distributed by Coyote transmit in real-time the speed limit, alert drivers of mobile and fixed speed cameras in real-time as well as on traffic incidents which allows users to drive on all European roads with confidence. Currently used in France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and the Czech Republic the radar warning systems of Coyote have more than 600,000 users.

Making an impression with compact size and global support

"The thing we value most about the Telit module is its compact size," says Jean-Marc Van Laethem, CTO and co-founder of Coyote System. "Because our systems have to work in a limited space, this means that we’re able to offer our customers new developments."

The high-class manufacturing, quality and globally available technical support for the world’s smallest GSM/GPRS module also convinced Coyote System to expand its partnership with Telit. This partnership not only includes now the use of the GE865-QUAD in the latest radar warning systems, but also a co-branding, illustrating that Telit technology is inside the device, and thus guaranteeing reliable communication.

"We’re delighted to extend our strategic partnership with a company as innovative as Coyote System," says Felix Marchal, Global Vice President Sales at Telit Wireless Solutions. "The fact that the founder and leading provider of GPS radar warning systems is relying even more on our modules highlights not only the quality of our products, but also demonstrates their versatile uses."

At home in even the smallest mobile devices

Beyond Coyote System, companies from the fields of tracking, telematics, fleet management and e-health are particularly avid users of the GE865-QUAD. Thanks to its compact size and efficient energy usage, the M2M module is absolutely ideal for use in even the smallest mobile devices. A further advantage is the remote AT service, developed by Telit to allow AT commands to be sent to the module via SMS or TCP. This makes remote access significantly easier, and with it the maintenance of applications.

Premium FOTA Management

Telit is also offering its customers a new service, Premium FOTA Management, which simplifies the maintenance of applications even further. Changes in the network or a new software version can lead to applications malfunctioning, which means that the module firmware has to be updated regularly. With Premium FOTA Management, companies can quickly and reliably upload these updates remotely, significantly extending the applications’ lifecycles and allowing companies to not only reduce their maintenance costs, but also giving them the security that their investments are protected long-term.
