Telit’s GL865 QUAD to Deliver GSM Communication Functionality to PBX Impacta Line System from Intelbras
São Paulo – March 11, 2014 – Intelbras, a Brazilian company leader in PBX telephone and condominium intercom systems, today announced that Telit Wireless Solutions, a global provider of high-quality machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions, products, was selected to be the M2M module supplier for the PBX Impacta Line, a Hybrid PBX system that integrates different types of IP, digital, analog and GSM technologies. Telit’s GL865 QUAD will handle the GSM communication functionality for the PBX Impacta Line system, making it possible for callers to place landline calls over the mobile network.
A close partnership between Telit and Intelbras allowed the development of an accessory board with GSM trunks for the PBX Impacta Line. This board can be inserted in the Inpacta Line rack, imparting the system the ability to route calls over the GSM trunks, reducing mobile phone charges. Similar solutions in the market achieved this functionality using analog voice interfaces or gateways delivering lower audio quality and connection lag. The solution with Telit’s GL865 QUAD provides higher quality audio while allowing full control of all kinds of phone calls.
With a capacity of up to eight GSM trunks, it is also possible to send SMS from PBX extensions and the virtual table with the new Impacta Line. The system can also manage incoming and outgoing calls, routing and directing them optimally, enabling efficiency gains while reducing telephone usage and connection costs.
“Using Telit M2M technology in this solution not only delivered feature improvements but also made it more cost effective than buying analog trunk boards and mobile interfaces or gateways, providing our product a real technological advantage in the Brazilian market,” says Aluísio Maykot Serafim, Intelbras Micro and Small PBX Segment Manager.
“Companies are much more aggressively taking advantage of M2M technology to improve their products. These new solutions developed in Brazil are up to date with global demand and can be marketed anywhere in the world”, says Ricardo Buranello, Telit Latin America director.
