I’m designing PCBs for both the GE910 and the CE910 and I plan to use USB for firmware updates. My product is battery powered and I have 3.5V and 1.8V rails in my system. I don’t, however, have provisions yet for VUSB. Can I use something like a switched capacitor boost regulator for this? TI makes the LM2750, which can source 120mA of current, which I would hope is adequate for this particular use.
Furthermore, is it possible to use a lower voltage for VUSB? I don’t need to interface with an external USB interface; rather, the other device with which the xE910 will be “speaking USB” is an STM32 micro and it can deal with lower-voltage USB.
Hi ,120mA is enough for VUSB. What is not correct is to use lower voltage.
