2. Unfortunately, cell IDs of UMTS BSs are differs from IDs of GSM BSs.
They are different, but if you want to use them for location finding purposes are still useful.
I see in WCDMA only serving cell ID can be found.
For operators selections, try to de-register first, check, register on the new operator, check – allow some time for actions to complete, check with AT+CREG.

I’m trying to use UC864E network surveillance capabilites in UMTS band and I have two questions.
1. Firstly, I switch modem to UMTS band and perform network survey:
Everything is OK here. Next, I’d like to look through every PLMN (usign #moni, #rfsts etc.):
at+cops command doesn’t take effect. What should I do to select PLMN?
2. Is is possible to obtain cell IDs of neighbour cells?
at#csurv command seems to report info about nearest cell (selecting by RX level).
at#moni allows to obtain some information:
but it is not contain cell IDs.
