Python Web Server

  1. Hi guys,

I have been trying to implement a simple http server on a GC864 Quad V2 module.  I have already seen a RS Web Server but I couldn’t make it work.  Python’s BaseHttpServer module depends on time module and I cannot use it either. So I tried to implement a simple one by myself but I have lots of problems in doing that. Does anyone have a suggestion to use Telit as a web server through the Python interface?

    Kind Regards,

    Erol

    1. I think the RS server will work with some effort, maybe you can ask their help? Is not terrible fast I’m afraid …

  2. I see the app is available for download, but in binary form, so not much investigation is possible, anyway if you think I might be of any help please write here what problem are, debug messages etc.

    1. Dear Cosmin,

The problem is more http related in my own implementation I guess.  I try to serve a web page involving 4 resources.  The browser makes a request for the root page with no problem, then the second request comes and the server generates the second response header with data. However after this, the browser stops requesting the other resources.. I am thinking of a timing problem but not sure.. Any guess from your view?

      1. What if:

        – change size of resources, making them smaller?

        – request root page without resources, and then load resources manually one after, varying the time between loads?

        – type of resource makes any difference?

        – browser type makes any difference?

        1. Dear Cosmin,

          Please find my answers below:

          What if:

          – change size of resources, making them smaller?

Answer: No change in this case

          – request root page without resources, and then load resources manually one after, varying the time between loads?

            Answer: This one works

          – type of resource makes any difference?

Answer: We are only serving simple html pages with maximum size of 1.7K

          – browser type makes any difference?

Answer: Yes it does. IE seems to be sending all the requests as seen from the status bar but the requests do no reach Telit. Chrome and Firefox processes similarly.  They just do not make any request  after the second resource.
