UC864-G CellID = 0?

  1. Hi,

    I am using UC864-G
In one of the output line, the cellID is 0.

    arfcn: 643 bsic:  0 rxLev: -77 ber: 0.00 mcc: 525 mnc: 01 lac: 77 cellId: 0 cellStatus: CELL_SUITABLE numArfcn: 0 arfcn:

May i know what is the reason?  Initially I thought it is due to  low signal strength.  However, there is another line with a lower signal strength, with cell ID output,
    arfcn: 80 bsic:  0 rxLev: -79 ber: 0.00 mcc: 525 mnc: 01 lac: 77 cellId: 13051 cellStatus: CELL_SUITABLE numArfcn: 0 arfcn:

Could you pls help to explain?

    thanks!
    1. Hi Sem,

      CellID
information is only avaliable on SYS INFO3. SYS INFO are information
messages sent by the network that include different network parameters.

      The UC864
protocol stack uses SYS INFO 3 or 4. Therefore it
can happen that different cells are scanned reading one of the two SYS
INFO. In case SYS INFO 4 is used the CellID info is lost and reported as
      0. This is Qualcomm implementation and cannot be changed by Telit since
we don’t have the full control of it. For this reason the CellID 0
indication is not systematic but it depends on the SYS INFO read
