PPP on 862

  1. I am attempting to use a PPP interface to the GM862 module. I get as far as the authentication then it starts to go downhill.

    I
receive the IPCP request with a local ( 192.168.202 ) IP address. It
totally ignores my IPCP packets and the link eventually times out. (my
    timeout).

The eventual target is a GL865 unit but I am currently using a EZ10 modem to test it.

Is there any known problems and if so I can migrate now to the 865 hardware.

The PPP software works with my satellite modem.

  2. I am not using flow control and have set at&k0.

I have set up to use a GL 865-QUAD with the same result.

The command sequence I used was as follows – some commands are to give information and some not required but never removed:

    ate0v1 : ath :  at&k0 : at+ifc=0,0 : at+cgsn : at+cgmr : at+ipr=9600 : at+cfun=1

    at#autobnd=0 : at+cmgf=1 : at+cnmi=0,2 : at+clvl=14 : at#dialmode=1

    atr2 : at+creg=1 : at+cmee=2

    —- wait for registration —

     ATD*99***1#

When connect is received, the connection continues as :

It just keeps repeating the request till timing out.

I have tried to add all information I have so this is a rather long messages.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    1. Hi,

can you confirm that the module is attached to GPRS?

      AT+CGATT? or AT+CGREG? should return 1 or 0,1

192.168.202.0 is the default Host IP Address that is assigned by the module to the PPP server side (the host application) at very first connection.

      Module’s LCP timeout is
      2.5s by default.

      Our PPP since it was
developed independently from the context activation, when it receives the first
"useful" IPCP Conf Req (without rejected options), it starts the context
activation procedure without answering to the IPCP Conf Req.

      The Nak containg the IP
address obtained after the activation, is sent on next IPCP Conf Req received
      within 2.5s (PPP timeout).

you can try to set AT#GPPPCFG="0.0.0.0",50,0 (LCP timeout 5s) or greater.

      how are set #ipcp-restart
      <n>
      and #ipcp-max-configure
      <n> on your PPP ?
