Concatenated SMS reception + Firmware version

  1. I have a GM862-GPS (Software Version 07.03.400 – will update shortly…) and reveive text messages with it .

My startup procedure is the following:

    AT+CPIN=xxxx
    AT+CREG=1
    AT#AUTOBND=2
    AT+CMEE=2
    AT+CSCS=8859-1
    AT#SMSMODE=1
    AT+CMGF=1
When a concatenated SMS (more than 160 characters) arrives, the message is something like below:
    54657374206F66206C6F6E67206D6573736167652E203132332E2054657374206F66206C6F6E67206D6573736167652E203132332E2054657374206F66206C6F6E67206D6573736167652E203132332E2054657374206F66206C6F6E67206D6573736167652E203132332E2054657374206F66206C6F6E67206D6573736167652E203132332E2054657374206F66206C6F6E67206D65737361
    Is this in PDU mode?
Anyhow, is there a command to DISABLE reception of concatenated SMS?

I found the command AT#CMGLCONCINDEX. It is included in Software Version 7.03.02, which is said to be newer than 7.03.400.

Why is 7.03.02 higher than 7.03.400?
What is the version coding scheme?

    Thank you for your help

    1. What character code are you using (AT+CSCS?)?

#CMGLCONCINDEX. is available from 7.03.x02. Please upgrade the firmware to this version and test again.

        1. Thanks.

There is no 7.03.02 but 7.03.402. Firmware numbers are 7.xx.abc where xx is the major version number, abc the minor number with a being product designation, 4 is for GM862-GPS.
