I have just built 2 demo boards using the GL865-QUAD-V3. (I have previously been using the -V2 without issue).
One modem registers with the network as expected and one does not, always returning +CREQ: 0,3
I have included some commands replies with basic modem stats
#MONI: T-Mobile UK BSIC:23 RxQual:0 LAC:0312 Id:834E ARFCN:634 PWR:-84dbm TA:2+WS46: 12+CSQ: 14,0
non-connecting modem#MONI: T-Mobile UK BSIC:23 RxQual:0 LAC:0312 Id:834E ARFCN:634 PWR:-81dbm TA:0
I have tried a factory reset, dis/reconnecting, but still cannot register. I have looked at the power supplies to both modems, both look solid and have similar charachteristics.
I am using the same sim in both modems, I can also use it successfully in one of my old boards.
Has anyone else seen this issue? Is there a sequence I can try to get the modem to connect?
If SIM on second module returns +CPIN: READY, force module to automatic registration with AT+COPS=0. After that CREG should return 0:2 for a while. If after that you are receiving +CREG: 0,3, check module soldering – especially power supply and ground pads.
Thanks for the reply. I check the pads again.
reflowed pwr and ground, still get the same result.
I’ll try the modem with another power supply, may be the weekend though, as it
will involve de/resoldering a few connections.
