GE865 Continuous Transmission for Regulatory Testing

  1. Hello,

We are going for FCC/IC/CE SAR and PTCRB testing and our test laboratory has requested we give them the ability to put our GE865-QUAD module into a state where it is continuously transmitting with their base stations (they provide SIM cards). Would anyone know the easiest way to perform this?

They also recommended doing this via GSM and not GPRS although I am not clear on why.

    Thanks,

    Chris

      1. Thanks, assuming they offer GSM Data Call I would probably follow the procedure in the Software User Guide under the section:

2.13 CSD Data Call – Establishing?

Then just transmit random data continuously?

  2. Hi Cosmin,

Do you know if there is a test mode to allow or force the radio to transmit in bands it does not have a network connection on?

We are doing some antenna testing without a base station simulator and we would like to force the device in any way possible to transmit at full (or at least partial power) on the band of our choice (850/900/1800/1900).

    Thanks,

    Chris

      1. Iam looking for similar info for teh DE910-dual. Our board will accept all Janus terminus modules and will need this info for the other modules as well. Starting with the DE910-dual.

        Thanks.
