  2. SL869 – There is a component in series with the antenna supply on the evaluation board schematic which is not on the reference design. What is this components and what is it for?

    1. Dear Dave,

FB2 is a SMA connector for antenna.

The other component, BLM18HE601SN1, is a Chip Ferrite Bead for GHz Noise. It is a filtering circuit, used to protect the signal against noise.

Please find in attachment the datasheet of this component.

      Best Regards,

      Matteo Manca

  3. SL869 – We have a prototype system running but there are no $GLGSV messages. Do these have to be enabled?

    1. Hello Dave,

from the default firmware the SL869 shows GPRMC,GPGGA,GNGSA without connect any gps antenna.

After connecting the GPS/GLONASS Antenna the receiver starts to populate the NMEA sentences with also GPGSV and GLGSV because its are related to the satellite in view.

Which Antenna are you using on your prototype board? Part Number?

Is this antenna supporting the GLonass Bandwidth ?

      Regards

      Matteo

      1. Matteo,

Sorry, I miscalculated the antenna bandwidth. This is the problem.

The SW manual states that there are two $GNGSA messages every second but there are three. Will this be for Galileo satellites when they are available?

        1. Hello Dave,

Two of these messages are output each second, one listing

the GPS satellites, the other listing the GLONASS satellites. Both messages contain DOP

values for the combined GPS and GLONASS geometry.

Yes the SL869 will be Galileo Compatible, but as far you know the Galileo system is still under development only 4 satellites in skyview at the moment.

          Kind Regards

          Matteo Manca

    1. Hello,

Where can I get a more readable copy of the schematic of the 910 module board?

      Thanks

      Cherif

      Hello Cherif,

please send an email directly to TS-emea@telit.com , my colleagues that doing a support of the xx910 products will help you.

      Thanks & Regards

      Matteo

  4. Hello Dave,

the third GNGSA message as you can see is showed but it is empty because was dedicated to the future use with Galileo satellite.

    Kind Regards

    Matteo
