I would like to reduce the
power consumption of End Point devices as much as possible.
I have found that, when using
New serial Protocol, End Points are consuming more than 30mA during all
the super frame.
I have seen that "serial
time out" register is not available when using New serial Protocol, so I
can’t put device in stand-by mode before the end of the super frame.
Is there any other way to
force stand-by mode in a End Point device prior to the end of the super frame
in order to save power?
If not, much of the energy in
and End Point is lost receiving superframes without information for that
particular device.
Thank you very much in advance

Can your consider the possibility to increase time between beacons?
Itmight be a solution you can take in consideration?
I don’t think so, because we need also fast response. Now we are doing tests with 4 seconds between beacons. We can not increase it more. We are also considering to use the "old" serial protocol (without delimiters), despite it has not some of the features of the new one.
The ideal situation would be to use the new protocol with the same power consumption as the old one.
Thank you very much

Hi again
In the mesh network, we have tested to configure End Points with "old serial protocol" and Coordinator with "new serial protocol" and it seems to work fine: so now we have low consumption in End Points using serial time out and we have the advantages of new protocol in coordinator.
Is there any drawback for having different protocol type?
Thank you very much
I apologize being so late:
There aren’t drawbacks for having different protocol type.
