The GE865-QUAD
is stated as operating in EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.
Our customer requires modem
for railway application (GSM-R). This requires R-GSM-900 which seems to
operate 876 MHz — 880 uplink. This would appear to be slighty outside of
the EGSM 900 band.
Will this modem operate in the requested band?
The GE865-QUAD doesn’t not support railway bands. The GSM-R is outside the standard quad band coverage.
Thanks for the reply.
On the Telit website: http://www.telit.com/en/discover/customer-applications.php The GE863-QUAD-PY modem is listed on the ‘GSM Railway’ application segment as being used with a customer application. How come this can be used? Does it operate outside of the normal quad band coverage?
This is not a standard product, it’s a dedicated product supporting the railway band.

How come GSM-R or railway
is not mentioned on the datasheet / documents?
Is there any other products that support this GSM-R?
