  1. Hi,

is it possible to tune the GPS search after powering on the xE910 module?

Lets say “forcing a hotstart through providing (last) time/position”.

    Thanks

You can use AT$GPSR=3 to try to force a hotstart.

Thanks, I will try that.  What are the conditions, that hotstart is working?

To my understanding ephemeris and almanac are stored automatically by the module.  How about time (on power loss)?

    1. Wow, “instant fix” is cool.  Unfortunately it is not (yet) available for the xE910 module family.

Another concern of mine is, that the GSM module (including GPS) is fully powered down, which means that it looses UTC.

Does that affect hotstart capability?  If yes, how can UTC be sent to the (GPS) module and how accurate does it have to be?

       Thanks

    2. Hi!

And what about "Instant Fix" on GE864-GPS?

Firmware 10.00.115 doesn’t allow to use some AT-commands for this technology.

IntantFix is supported on GE864-GPS since there is a SirfStar IV inside.

You can handle A-GPS now via AT commands on the latest 10.00.116. Please contact your Telit distributor to get the latest firmware version.
