  1. [SOL] Is it possible to configure the NMEA port in order to send user specified NMEA Strings or even issue requests (to get specific Strings).

    Look in the GM862-GPS “Software User Guide”.

    You should be able to issue e.g. the $PSRF103,05,00,01,01*20\r\n NMEA command to enable VTG messages via Hypeterminal on the NMEA port (that means GPS serial port B) and the $PSRF103,05,00,00,01*21\r\n command to disable VTG messages.
    But you need to set Flow control to None and “Send line ends with line feeds” for Setting-ASCII setup on Hyperterminal before.
    Furthermore, you need to “reset” Hyperterminal with the new setting before to issue the NMEA command, by closing and reopening it.
