Locate device using serving and adjacent cells data

  1. Hi,

Is it possible to predict the GSM module/device location by using the serving and adjacent cells data ?

If so, which of these data (BSIC, LAC, CellId, ARFCN) can be used for location prediction and how to use them ?

     Thanks

    1. Take a look at Google Gears API for a global worldwide database, you might encounter some odd licensing terms agreements; there are other providers you can use, some free, and coverage can be limited.

      1. Thanks Cosmin, do you know if Apple iOS have their own cell location database or if they use a third-party service ? The location used on iphone/ipads is awesome. I would like to use the same on my tracking device.
