Seoul, 2012-02-15 – Telit Wireless Solutions, a global leader in the field of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced that it has selected Melper, a Seoul-based leading company in M2M application design and solution consulting, as its Korea Competence Center.

As part of its core distribution strategy, Telit-designated Competence Centers play a critical role in offering M2M design, development and integration assistance to customers worldwide. The main objective of the Competence Center is to identify and execute designs for specific customer applications based on Telit’s technologies. In conjunction with Telit’s distribution network, the Competence Centers also work with customers to develop concepts to realize target solutions for GSM/GPRS/CDMA/GPS products.

Established in 2009, Melper has broad knowledge in the M2M application market. The firm recently provided application devices and support for the Ubiquitous-Automatic Weather Station (u-AWS) enhancement project, an initiative of the Korean Meteorological Administration aimed towards building a system that allows real-time weather forecasts. Melper has expertise in GSM/GPRS, CDMA, Bluetooth, Zigbee and embedded OS technology.

"Naming Melper as our Korea Competence Center is a significant step towards strengthening Telit’s position in the Korean market. Melper’s proven experience in high-level system design and knowledge of the regional M2M market will help us reduce product development lifecycles and offer our customers highly cost-effective and impactful solutions that meet their unique needs," said Jongkap Yoon, Korea Operations, Telit Wireless Solutions.

"We are honored to be partnering with Telit to expand our presence in the market more effectively. We expect to grow in 2012 thanks to our established relationships with different stakeholders throughout the product development ecosystem," said Yonggwon Kim, CEO of Melper.
