MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT FOR FINANCIAL YEAR 2017/18
This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Telit has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Telit has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
OUR BUSINESS
Telit offers a comprehensive portfolio of high-performance Internet of Things (IoT) modules, connectivity and cloud services. Collectively, the IoT is the numerous technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate, exchange data with an extremely wide range of devices typically in a vast number of locations.
The Telit Group sells its products and services directly, and through a network of distributors, to thousands of direct and indirect customers, in more than 80 countries around the world. Telit’s customers are of all sizes, covering substantially all verticals in the IoT market.
With over 20 years of experience doing business around the globe, Telit has established strong channels and excellent access to key suppliers, customers and distributors in all major markets.
The Telit Group‘s ultimate holding company is a private company incorporated in England and Wales. It has a number of direct and indirect subsidiaries world-wide.
OUR POLICIES
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
- Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy. This policy sets out the organisation’s stance on modern slavery and explains where employees can go for help.
- Whistleblowing Policy. We operate a whistleblowing policy so that all employees know that they can raise concerns about practices within our business or supply chain, without fear of reprisals.
- Code of Ethics. This code explains the manner in which we behave as an organisation and how we expect our employees and suppliers to act.
OUR SUPPLIES
Telit’s supply chain includes the manufacturers of Telit’s products, suppliers of components and materials used to manufacture these products, suppliers supporting the provision of services and suppliers which provide miscellaneous services supporting Telit’s operations worldwide. These suppliers are based in different regions, world-wide. Telit’s anti-slavery policy extends to Telit’s relationship with its suppliers.
As part of Telit’s effort to eliminate modern slavery from its supply chain, Telit, through an independent third party, obtains information from its suppliers with regard to their compliance with the UK’s modern slavery act.
TRAINING
We have instituted training for our procurement/buying teams so that they understand the signs of modern slavery and what to do if they suspect that it is taking place within our supply chain.
OUR PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if, among other factors, no reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.
