Two decades of experience across the globe have helped the company establish strong channels and unfettered access to key players in all major world markets. From its beginnings in 1986 as Telital and Telital automotive, an engineering company providing research and development services to multinational telecoms, Telit emerged as one of the leading names in innovative cellular technology. In 1997, the company began manufacturing and marketing products under the Telit brand. Since then, millions of cellular handsets and other mobile communications devices such as the first Globalstar satellite mobile phone have been supplied to users and operators worldwide.
Telit recognized early on the potential of cellular m2m solutions and launched its first m2m module called Datablock in 1998. Allowing real-time monitoring and control, minimizing or dispensing with human intervention, m2m is gaining significant market traction as it addresses the ever-increasing demands, e.g. in terms of speed, savings, safety, environmental protection, localization, remote control, accuracy and many others in the business world.
On March 1st 2011 Telit completed the acquisition of Motorola m2m from Motorola Israel Ltd., a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions Inc. The integration of Motorola m2m into the existing Telit business, mainly in Israel but also in the US, England and APAC, was fully and successfully completed during 2011.
On July 11th 2011 the company acquired GlobalConect Ltd. to establish a services business, with the goal of having recurring revenues. Thanks to this acquisition and the strategic partnership Telit entered in with Telefonica Espana S.A.U on February 22nd 2012 Telit is today the only company in the market that provides a value added services bundle including connectivity to its customers.
Navman Wireless OEM Solutions LP was acquired on January 3rd 2012 which strengthens Telit's position as the premier product and consultative partner in the m2m industry. The acquisition of Navman's technology and the engagement of its US based executive engineering and sales staff will make Telit a major contender in the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) market while providing an enhanced product portfolio for its m2m customers and providing Telit access to new GPS customers and products beyond the traditional m2m industry.
At the beginning of 2013 Telit acquired CrossBridge Solutions expanding its m2mAir offering to small/medium m2m customers in the U.S. The acquired company has a long 22-year history in the North American market adding to Telit's 20+ years' experience in cellular hardware technology.
In September 2013 Telit acquired ILS Technology, a U.S.-based provider of cloud services and application enablement platform (AEP). The acquisition was another important step to continue building a company to offer end-to-end solutions to its customers.
In 2012 Telit added the value added and connectivity services to deliver essential connectivity solutions on the mobile network side of connected devices. With the ILS Technology acquisition its cloud-based services and AEP, Telit completes the set of solutions to provide customers a comprehensive Internet-side services offering including Application Enablement.
Having successfully integrated the most recent businesses acquired by Telit (Motorola m2m, GlobalConect and Navman) into the Company's global organization, and with significant market share, Telit is confident in its position as a leading global company in the m2m industry. m2m Is About Enabling - It Enables Other Segments And Applications
m2m is a technology that has evolved over the course of just a few years and yet has become indispensable for many industries. According to Beecham Research, the market had reached a volume of more than 50 billion US Dollar even by 2008. And the prospects for growth are excellent: In 2012, the market volume is set to rise five-fold to 250 billion US Dollar.
The chief value of m2m is to enable applications that allow businesses to enhance productivity and competitiveness through increased efficiencies, cost-savings, and improved levels of service.

Telit's R&D Competence

Trieste (Italy): Telit's Trieste R&D facility is the company's main engineering, design & development
facility, and headquarters for the global R&D function. Trieste focuses its braintrust
in the advancement of GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and GPS technologies.
A team focused on the automotive specific products has been created with the purpose of enhancing support and services for this market.
Cagliari (Italy): This R&D center is the primary competence center for other wireless technologies and special projects. This facility investigates short-range wireless, satellite, and other emerging technologies for integration into the corporate portfolio roadmap.
Seoul (Korea): Telit's APAC R&D center is located in Seoul, South Korea, and is the main development site for the company's CDMA, WCDMA, and UMTS projects. It is also Telit's center of competence for automotive specific products and rugged design technologies.
Tel Aviv (Israel): The acquisition of Motorola M2M enabled Telit to open a fifth R&D center located in Tel Aviv. The team in Israel supports the other centers worldwide in the cellular sector.
California (USA): Another R&D centre is located in Foothill Ranch, California, and is the main development site for the company's GPS/Glonass and Location projects.
Chicago (USA): Telit's sixth R&D Center is located in Chicago, Illinois. This team is responsible for product development for m2mAIR North America.
Boca Raton (USA): This is the world headquarter site for ILS Technology acquired in September 2013 and housing engineering and R&D in charge of advancing cloud technology and the company's application enablement platform (AEP).

The Telit Technical Support Forum
Telit expanded its support service and launched the world's first open communication platform for m2m topics, the Telit Technical Support Forum. The forum was developed for Telit customers but also grants access to the entire m2m community. System integrators, developers and partner companies can exchange opinions and ideas amongst themselves and receive valuable assistance for their daily work, at any time, from the Telit technical support teams around the world. The support team consists of employees from Telit's four research and development centers in Trieste (Italy), Sardinia (Italy), and Seoul (Korea).
Unlike many of its competitors, Telit developed its own protocol stack both with GSM/GPRS and short-range network protocols. Telit has invested a total of over 400 man-years in the ongoing development of this software platform. As the sole proprietor of its module software, Telit can work with its customers to align modules with the requirements of individual applications or markets in the shortest possible time. The flexibility afforded by total control over the protocol stack, the most critical software component in the makeup of the module architecture, allows Telit to respond quickly to individual needs, while customers benefit from being able to quickly launch their products into their target markets.
