Overview

Automotive Department - Telit Wireless Solutions GmbH

  • Place of Work - Based out of local office location (Munich) or home office location in Germany, the position is in support of Automotive Tier-1 suppliers in the region.

  • Function - Providing technical support to Telit customers in the automotive industry, primarily Tier-1 suppliers and Automotive OEM vendors. The position involves traveling within Germany and Italy with occasional visits to the headquaters in Trieste.

  • A clean Driving License and willingness to travel by air is required.

  • Responsibilities - to achieve Design Wins and follow up opportunities for Telit Wireless modules and to respond to the technical questions that arise from the customers before, during and after the design phase and to generally promote Telit Wireless modules from a Technical perspective.

  • A Company car or car allowance will be provided. Laptop, mobile phone and simple Engineering Test Equipment will be provided.

Range of Responsibilities

Day to Day Duties - These include:

  • Technical reference for our automotive customers during design-in phase and also during serial production.
  • 24/7 point of contact in case of quality escalations
  • Interpret customer requirements and specify appropriate Telit products and documentation. The position is responsible for providing technical support for Telit Wireless modules during all phases of the customer activity.
  • To develop new business by visiting customers and clients promoting Telit and its products. Follow up opportunities and projects, provision of product data sheets and samples and to introduce new technology platforms and to keep direct accounts informed of new information and products.
  • Demonstrations and technical presentations. Visiting customer premises and those of their subcontractors to solve technical issues. Liaising with Telit Technical Support in Trieste. Carrying out special testing and engineering investigations to assist customers with module and network issues. To work in partnership with main regional network operators to maximize the Telit product offering.
  • The position is responsible for providing key feedback on next generation products and support of the RFQ process to provide timely responses.

Weekly activities include:

Providing a report of the achievements and activities of the previous week, together with recommendations and actions arising. Keep records of customer visits with brief reports.

Other activities will require attendance at seminars, industry shows, exhibitions and attendance at Telit business conferences, technical trainings and distribution meetings.

The position reports to the Global Head of Automotive

Skill and Abilities

The successful candidate shall demonstrate confidence with customers and conduct themselves in a professional manner supporting and promoting Telit in a positive way at all times.

He/she shall be a creative thinker and communicate in a clear and precise way. He/she shall maintain a record of their activities on a laptop using the software tools provided. Experience or appreciation of the following disciplines is an advantage:

  • Knowledge of the automotive design process

  • Mobile Network Knowledge (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, CDMA)

  • C/C++ programming and scripting languages

  • Hardware Design experience with Digital and Analogue communications devices.

  • Experience of schematics diagrams and circuit diagram analysis at component level

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate shall have gained a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.

He/She shall have been working in Wireless Technology preferably with a minimum of 4 years industrial experience in the technical aspects and applications of wireless modules into target hardware.

He/She shall have direct working experience with an automotive Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM in the field of automotive electronics. Preferably in the Telematics discipline.

Knowledge of industry standard automotive design practices including FMEA, PPAP, AEC-Q100, etc.

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will provide comprehensive pre-sale and post-sale technical support for customer software design, circuit design and system development. You will become technical expert on GSM/CDMA wireless modules and features. You will be involved with customer presentations, product introductions, and technical sales training for our channel partners' sales teams. You will work with M2M Company's field sales management and marketing managers to develop and execute successful demand creation strategies for us and our partners. The Field Applications Engineer will also lead operator and type approval certifications for product in the Americas. This includes FCC, IC, PTCRB, and CDG certifications and North America GSM and CDMA operator approvals.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CUSTOMER SUPPORT:

  • Provide design support for prospects and customers.

  • Provide technical support to the sales staff in order to promote the company's products to customer engineers during the design win cycle.

  • Prepare and present technical material in customer meetings.

  • Provide support to customer engineers, during the integration of our products in a customers system.

  • Perform training and follow-up technical support to customers, including assistance during the development phase and provide detailed product specifications.

SALES SUPPORT:

Operations and Support Technician

Overview:

The Operations and Support Technician will be responsible for day-to-day operation of systems, applications, and the Customer Support center. This position provides Tier I support for all problems with hardware, software and other computer related technology issues and inquiries. This position will review systems to collect information about problems and perform diagnostic procedures to determine the source of errors. This individual must be able to log and track calls using incident management software, maintain historical records and related problem documentation, and perform triage on all incoming requests to ensure that tickets are routed to the appropriate group for resolution. Daily activities will be driven primarily by recurring system health checks, responding to automated system alerts, and handling customer calls and emails.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly health checks.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will be responsible for direct sales of Telit m2mAir Network Services in North America (NA) for a set of accounts. The SAM will formulate and implement account strategies to maximize sales results in the territory. General responsibilities include: leading our sales efforts in direct accounts, prospecting strategic accounts, implementing specific account strategies and closing opportunities. The individual we are seeking must have relevant M2M network services experience and extensive experience in complex selling. The position reports to the Director of Sales of m2mAir NA and will work closely with other members of the Sales, Marketing, and Applications Engineering teams.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The SAM will be responsible for new and existing sales in North America for a targeted list of Telit m2mAir customers. The specific responsibilities of the position will include, but not be limited to:

New Sales Development & Account Management:

  • Build relationships within targeted accounts at all levels in order to understand customer requirements and build a compelling value proposition based on m2mAir offerings.

  • Effectively communicate and present to multiple levels and functions within an organization to demonstrate Telit's unique value proposition.

  • Develop account strategies for each targeted account and leverage internal resources to support execution of account strategy.

  • Develop innovative ways to address customer objections and leads customer to close.

  • Advise sales management on market conditions and Telit's competitors; gather market intelligence, product requirements and distribute within the Company.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate has worked in the M2M industry or a wireless network sales position. This is a "hunter" position and requires highly motivated and self-directed individual. Candidate must be a go-getter who refuses to lose.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.

  • 5+ years of sales experience in M2M network services sales at a MNO or MVNO.

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for onboarding new customers under contract for m2mAIR NA network services. The position reports to the Manager of Onboarding and Technical Sales Support and will work closely with Sales, Sales Operations, and Applications Engineering teams.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for onboarding new customers, as well as, adding additional networks and services to existing m2mAir NA customers:

New Customer Onboarding:

  • Provision new customers including:

  • Adding new customer info into appropriate databases and spreadsheets.

  • Building customer connectivity in appropriate production systems.

  • Providing support to network operations, sales managers and customers when required.

  • Provision and maintain customer evaluations.

Telit is looking for an experienced Application Engineer to join its global organization, able to bring their enthusiasm and technical skills for customer design review and technical support of M2M products. The candidate should be an experienced engineer in the wireless industry with segment experience in M2M, be available to travel globally, with primary focus on Asia Pacific region and be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a technical contact point for FAE, Sales and customers in technical perspective
  • Technical assistance and integration support to customers and distributors for their application design
  • Design review service of customer device
  • Performing initial test and verification of the issue with the relevant test equipment based on the input from FAE and customers
  • Understand and communicate customer's technical, product & service requirements
  • Translating the request in technical detail of the customer specific features and new AT commands for R&D review and management approval

Qualifications

  • More than 7 years' experience as a development engineer(HW and/or SW) in the wireless telecoms industry (especially in Cellular, GNSS)
  • Bachelor's degree (Electronics, telecoms or computer sciences preferred)
  • Practical experience in designing of RF/Power/Digital circuit or SW development for wireless products and its certification
  • Deeper technical knowledge of Cellular, GNSS & Short Range RF technologies
  • Experience in applying AT command, Java, SW drivers for product development
  • Capability of handling the necessary Cellular & GNSS test equipment
  • Able to communicate with FAEs and customers as an senior Engineer level

To support more APAC sales in accordance with the expanding region such as Japan, Australia and SEA on top of current Korea, China, Taiwan and India, we must setup good brand image in these new territory. Educational Requirements:

Qualifications:

Interface with headquarter to complete the reporting tasks such as consolidating all the regional success story, contacting the candidate author for T2M and gathering article to be published to T2M, coordinating between global marketing team and regional PR agencies. Assist RSD on ad hoc request of marketing activities such as joining conference and exhibition etc. Responsible for generating weekly report by gathering regional report from the APAC region.
