Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a term for certain types of wireless local area networks (WLAN) that uses radio waves to provide wireless high-speed Internet and network connections. The term Wi-Fi was created by an organization called the Wi-Fi Alliance, which oversees tests that certify product interoperability. (see also Wi-Fi Alliance®)
