Located in the United Kingdom, Airmax Remote Ltd (AMXR) was formed in April 2005 and specializes in vehicle telematics software, vehicle diagnostics, forensics and prognostics.

Today's team can build on over 170 man years combined experience in hosted and client based solutions. AMXR is a wholesale provider of telematics products to major corporations and individual customers by partner channels with an excess of 10,000 RTU installations to date, averaging more than 500 new vehicle installations each month. AMXR is a technology led company with a dedicated customer support team and full time, experienced engineering support staff with a long term commitment to research & development and product diversity.

The Airmax Remote Telematics Unit (RTU) collects data via all common diagnostics protocols including CAN and transmits via GSM/GPRS/GPS. The in-vehicle unit is a quick, simple, safe, plug-and-play installation and supports >98% of typical vehicle car fleet and 70-80% of vans to date with continuous on-going software, hardware, and cable development.

Main features


The unit is in constant development and has progressed from the first generation released in 2005 that reported mileage, trips and EOBD faults (limited by manufacturers' data) to the 2nd generation, available now, with additional reports such as emissions reporting and full GPS tracking. Future generations will be developed to include a Bluetooth replacement of GSM and cost reduced designs with improved functionality.
